About the Siamese Breed: Although one of the oldest of the pedigree cat breeds, Siamese are still one of the most popular. The Siamese is a magical animal, very alluring with its stylish long, svelte shape, light coloured body with contrasting coloured points (extremities) and sparkling blue eyes.

Siamese cats are extrovert and loving and thrive on human company making them ideal pets, highly inquisitive and intelligent.

We breed quality Siamese cats with health and temperament our main priorities. Tarantela Siamese usually come in the four main colours of seal, blue, chocolate and lilac, with the occasional caramel, as well as our beautiful solid pointed Siamese we breed the irresistible tabby points.

Seal - Dense;  warm seal brown;   Blue - Light blue-ish grey;  Chocolate - Milk chocolate brown;   Lilac - Pinkish grey.

Tabbies - Can be any of the colours with mask, legs and tails showing clear tabby markings.

Siamese cats are amongst the oldest of breeds to be recorded and were brought back to Britain from Thailand in the late 1800s. The first Siamese acknowledged in Britain were 2 seal points Pho and Mia brought back from the Royal Palace of Bangkok 120 years ago by English Consul General, Mr Owen Gould, as a present for his sister.

Harrison Weir's The Siamese Standard of 1892 for the Royal Cat Of Siam described what is now known as the seal point Siamese, the first variety of Siamese to gain recognition. The blue point Siamese was the next variety to gain recognition in the UK with the GCCF, the chocolate point third and next the lilac point, the four main colours. Today's Siamese also come in many newer colours.

There is evidence to suggest some tabby points existed over 100 years ago as they are mentioned in Frances Simpson's "Book Of The Cat" dated 1902. Todays tabby point lines go back to the 1960s and official recognition was granted by the GCCF in 1966 and they were given the breed number 32 to distinguish them from the solid 24 series Siamese.

A description by Mrs Marjorie Hudson when she saw a litter of tabby point kittens being first exhibited at the Croydon Cat Club Championship show in 1966, still describes them beautifully "I could not take my eyes off them, such exquisite little creatures with cobweb-brushed faces, upstanding striped tails and the most glorious sapphire eyes."

Our Stud:  Sharue Shining Star  (Mister)  - 32 1 Seal Tabby Point  Pure Siamese Pedigree (CS registered)
(German Import: D-Shiva's Tigger x Sharue Whisperingstar)

Above and Below: our Siamese stud, Sharue Shining Star. 'Mister' is my special boy who won my heart the first time I saw him, he is so handsome, gentle and loving, everything I always wanted in a Siamese stud. As well as a perfect temperament Mister has superb type being very tall and elegant with a wonderful head and and the deepest Sapphire eyes. Mister is producing excellent kittens of superb type that inherit his loving and laid back temperament. Mister carries blue and chocolate and produces solid and tabby pointed kittens making him also a very versatile stud. The last three pictures on the bottom line are of Mister at six months and then as a kitten.

'Star' is my beautiful baby boy and future stud, a real gift from Purdy and Mister.  He is such a sookie boy I could not bear to part with him wanting to be picked up all the time, purring with all his heart and non stop padding - you just fall in love with him.  Added to this his super temperament and lovely 'type.' Star is a big handsome boy who is part of Tarantela's future.

Rumours as a kitten

At Tarantela all our kittens are raised in our home as part of our family. Our Siamese kittens are well socialised because they get lots of attention and are reared with love.

We do not breed many Siamese babies but the few we have are 'special.'

All our Siamese babies are health checked, vaccinated, registered with GCCF, have a 4 Generation pedigree, and are issued with a sample of their food and 4 weeks free insurance with Pet Plan before going to their new homes.  I am always here to help with any problems.

Siamese and Bengals go together very well as they both have that 'active, naughty intelligent, inquiring nature.'

We do not have any Siamese kittens for sale at the moment
